After 30 years, the Harrison High School Girls Tennis Team will be getting a fresh look.
This summer, Harrison High School constructed brand new tennis courts beside the old, run-down courts that will eventually be demolished. This project took about three months to finish and was funded by Harrison’s athletic budget, which has provided upgrades to many things like the school’s gymnasium, football stadium, and softball field. The courts include spectator bleachers.
Before the development of the new courts, the tennis courts were separated into two complexes, one in the front parking lot and one in the back of the school. Under that design, coaches and spectators could not view matches that were happening at the same time; the new courts have eliminated this problem completely. Coaches at Harrison have envisioned this change for years, and with its completion, coaches, players, and spectators can now enjoy the long-awaited courts this spring tennis season.
Coach Rodrigues, the team’s Head Coach, could not be reached for comment.
